| Well the first thing you need to be looking for is wehehtr or not they have a true tow package, not just the little ball insert built into the bumper, that will only work for really light loads. It should also have the wiring harness for the trailer lights. You also want a v8, the v6 will not cut it for hauling. Make sure the truck hasn't been lifted or lowered as it will make things hard on you for hooking a trailer. Miles will be high, as your budget is low, so don't get too hung up on it. Ask them about service records (Oil and other fluids) and what if any major service has been done recently. Hopefully you will find one where the engine or transmission has been rebuilt somewhat recently. And definitely take it to a mechanic and get it checked out. |
